Welcome to my Home Brew WiFi Antenna Site.

I built this Antenna out of spare parts laying around the house, or
that I purchased at the local 99 cent store.

I bought the wire dish for 99 cents and the camera tri pod for $5.00.
The 2db antenna I got when I bought a EW-7126 pci wifi card from NewEgg.com
By the way the EW-7126 pci 802.11b card works great with Linux. (PClinuxOS)
If you need a duckie antenna you can purchase one for $7.95 at NewEgg.com

Although I cannot tell you the exact dbi gain I have I can tell you that the Transmit rate has
jumped from a '+/- 3' Mbps to a steady '11' Mbps. The signal quality has also increased from ~32% to
69% and higher. The original antenna that comes with the WET11 has a peak gain of 5db, the TX rate
was a steady 11 Mbps and the link quality was as high as 80% to 85%. My access point, Linksys WAP11
is mounted on a 40ft. tower within a waterproof housing with a 8db omni directional antenna.

As you can see from these last two pictures that the LOS is high thru the ceiling and
than the roof. The dish is approx 12 foot from the tower base. This is rather a poor signal area .
